What Is #ToreroTuesday?
Tuesday, December 1, 2015 is #GivingTuesday, where people around the world come together for one common purpose - to celebrate generosity and to give back. It’s a simple idea. The University of San Diego has designated December 1 as #ToreroTuesday, to celebrate USD and welcome the arrival of our new president, Dr. James T. Harris, III. Everyone is invited to participate in this special day.
Support Torero Athletics
We encourage friends, alumni and parents of USD Athletics to come together to support their favorite programs to provide the best possible experience for our student-athletes. Following the success of last year’s Torero Giving Day, the USD Athletics Department will once again donate community service hours for every $250 raised toward athletics during this year’s #ToreroTuesday. When you give to USD Athletics, we give back to the community!
USD alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends are all encouraged to join in #ToreroTuesday by making a gift of any amount to the school or program that is most important to you. Then, encourage others to do the same by sharing a specially branded ‘I Gave’ photo on your social media accounts.
Yes, you can direct your gift to a specific purpose or to support a college, school or program that is meaningful to you. Your gift can be designated for current use or to build a lasting legacy. You can select from a list of priorities or indicate your preference when completing the donation form. Yes, #ToreroTuesday is December 1st, but you don’t have to wait. All gifts made here on the #ToreroTuesday site will count toward our #ToreroTuesday totals.
Yes, the University uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to communicate with your browser software when you register with us online. SSL is the industry standard security protocol, which makes it extremely difficult for anyone else to intercept the personal information you send us in conjunction with your registration.
The University has partnered with CASHNet/Higher One, a leading payment processing company in higher education, to provide secure credit card payment processing. USD requires full compliance with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry, Data Security Standards) of any vendor or service provider engaged by the University in transacting, processing or otherwise handling cardholder data. CASHNet is independently certified at the highest level of security (Level 1 PCI DSS).
Yes! Many employers offer matching gift programs; any verified matching gift totals will be included in our #ToreroTuesday totals. To see if your employer has a matching gift program, you can check here: sandiego.edu/matching
