College of Arts and Sciences

The College of Arts and Sciences will always be the academic and historical heart of the University of San Diego. Our 21st-century liberal arts education is designed to educate the mind and develop each student holistically. In the College, students find their intellectual home and everything they need to begin building their futures.

The Impact of Your Gift

  1. College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Leadership Fund

    Funds raised will support sponsorships, faculty and student awards and research.

  2. Turning Wheel Project

    Funds will be used to purchase equipment and other necessary materials for the mobile classroom and community projects.

  3. Torero Pep Band

    Funds raised will be put toward purchasing new musical instruments.

  4. Student Undergraduate Research Fund

    This fund provides travel support for research, speaking engagements, conferences or other academic purposes. Funds also provide students the necessary resources to conduct important research for their field.

  5. Comparative Anatomy and Biomechanics Lab

    All funds will directly support additional research staff to work on the project, or to providing much-needed consumables.

  6. USD and Pacific Arts Movement Partnership

    Funds will support this 20-year relationship between USD and Pac Arts and its impact on the greater San Diego community.

  1. College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Leadership Fund

    The Dean's Leadership Fund provides the College of Arts and Sciences with the flexibility to take advantage of unexpected opportunities as they arise, and to meet unforeseen needs in the College's many departments, programs, centers and institutes.

  2. Turning Wheel Project

    Turning Wheel is a mobile classroom that teaches and serves our local community. The project is a partnership between Chicano Park and the University of San Diego.

  3. Torero Pep Band

    The Torero Pep Band performs at men’s and women’s basketball games, as well around campus at other spirit events. The band also travels with the basketball team for the March tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.

  4. Student Undergraduate Research Fund

    This fund provides travel support for research, speaking engagements, conferences or other academic purposes. Students also have the opportunity to participate in professional development workshops and network with other researchers.

  5. Comparative Anatomy and Biomechanics Lab

    This project studies how pregnancy affects the muscles that are used during walking and running. In the lab, student researchers will seek the underlying biological basis of improved athletic performances by postpartum women as well as analyze the advice these women receive regarding their exercise regime.

  6. USD and Pacific Arts Movement Partnership

    2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the historic San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF), which debuted at the University of San Diego on August 11, 2000. In the past, SDAFF has attracted thousands of attendees and has been host to renowned film directors such as Justin Lin (Fast and Furious) and Karyn Kusama (The Invitation).
